Uncle Ar, the Disciplinarian

"When asked in numerous interviews on podcasts, blogs, and whatnot, or in private conversations with fellow spankers, what are the qualities he looks for in women bottoms, Arlin James, or Uncle Ar as he was known to the most, had one unwavering response: willing."

Uncle Ar, the older English gentleman that Izzie met at the bar, is getting his own story. It's work in progress, and the paragraph above is an opening sentence. Yay or nay??

And of course, the character was originally based on Devlin O'Neill (may he rest in peace), lovingly called Uncle Dev by many.  I know very little about him, except that he was well known in the community as a disciplinarian and the author of many books, you can find them on Amazon, and a famous blog that sadly disappeared, the domain name wasn't renewed after he passed away.

In any case, I consider this new upcoming story as a tribute to him. If any of you reading this knew Devlin, please share some details in the comments, and I will try to weave them into the story.

For those of you who never heard of him, here is my old post about his vanished website: PSA: Devlin O'Neill's old blog

  2. That's such an important detail, a military veteran, and goes well with the overall disciplinarian theme. Thank you, my old friend!

  3. Uncle Dev was a favourite of mine, and gave me some of his stories. I actually found one of his books (A Maid for All Seasons) in our local Chapters bookstore.

    1. Thank you, B, and welcome to my blog! I didn't know that you visit it too. And thank you for sharing an Uncle Dev story. I'm glad that this page is turning in some kind of In Memoriam.

  5. Devlin O'Neill was a lovely, lovely man. My best memory of him is one of my first. Pablo and I were going to Shadow Lane sometime in the early 2000s - planning to meet some friends from England on Thursday evening. Suddenly Pab had a work situation that meant he had to be in LA on Friday. Devlin found out (from Tony Elka if I'm remembering correctly) that P wasn't going to be leave until Friday afternoon, arriving sometime in the evening (turned out to be after midnight). Though we'd never met in person, D wrote to me asking if I'd like him to pick me up Thursday morning and ride to Vegas with him. Of course I agreed.

He picked me up in a cute little convertible and we drove through East. On the way we both made up scenarios and stories about naughty (or at least mischievous) "girls" and "boys" who'd not been able to behave on the drive through the desert, requiring the use of a rest stop or handy roadside billboard. We convinced each other so well that I looked at every stopped car along the way, trying to see if there was anything interesting going on.

The newsgroup (soc.sexuality.spanking) was still running in those days and we talked about writing our fantasies into a story that I suggested we call "Driving with Devlin." We may have even exchanged some emails about it, but I don't think the stories were ever finished. When we got to Vegas I shyly asked him if he'd spank me and, ever the gentleman he thanked me and gave me my first spanking of that year's party. After, ever the gentleman, he said he'd wanted to ask but didn't want me to feel like he expected "payment" for the ride.

So there you go. My Devlin story.
