PSA: Looking for An Old Story

Asking for a friend. No, seriously. A mutual on Tumblr asked for help on finding this old story. I know that many of you have good deep archives or equally good memory. Any leads greatly appreciated.

Here is his description:

I've been searching for this smut for a long time. If I understand it correctly, the original writer had it taken down everywhere online because he was trying to get it published. It was very well written. It was called "The Lottery Winner" but the only name I have for the writer was his handle from back in the BBS days, "Nightwind." The story was about a man by the name of Paul Renner or Renier or something like that who won the lottery. Used his winnings to create a harem of women from around the world. Of course there were smutty parts but the writing was so exceptional even in the vanilla parts I have no doubt they could have gotten published. I have no problem paying for the work, but I've not been able to to find it anywhere. There was a newsgroup post with maybe 20 chapters of it, from the middle. But, not the whole story.

  2. Hi. I don't know anything about that story. But your own continued saga of Nick and Izzie ought to be able to find at least as many readers as 50 Shades of Grey ever found. It's fascinating. Have you tried to publish it as a novel?

With other online spanking stories various people write, I think "She's going to leave him in a month or 2, once the reality sufficiently departs from her fantasy of how this would be."

But Nick and Izzie have staying power--both in their relationship dynamic and in their attraction for the reader.

    1. Hello Sage, and welcome to my blog! As they say, from your lips to God's ears! All I need to do is finish the book, or better say, the first instalment, edit, find a publisher, rinse, repeat... And all these spanking stories are only the kinky part, not to mentioned tons of vanilla but steamy goodness that has been hiding in my proverbial writing desk, scattered over the blogs, platforms, and various files and notes. Nevertheless, it's the words like yours that keep me going!

  3. I guess the story you mean is probably not this one, but just in case, here is what I found when I got curious myself and searched Amazon:

    1. Unfortunately, my friend confirmed that it's a different story. Weird, the premise is so similar. Hmm... I will try to add the link here of the chapters that he found in old forums.

  4. Oh, I see now, reading more of this blog. You ARE going to publish the saga of Nick and Izzie. Wonderful.
BTW, there are other instances in spanking stories of people bottoming from the top, or being "service doms"--but only briefly, and seen as sort of a phase to be moved through--not as a continuing dynamic. The continuing dynamic is more interesting to me
    See https://theshadowsplay.wordpress.com/
Two stories that are about brief instances of service domhood on there are We All Are and Just Do It.
The writer there is quite talented, just as you are.

    1. That was the plan but unfortunately or not I switched my attention to the other couple: Stuart and Sherry, and have been churning pages about them. I posted only a few scenes here, if you are interested. https://soreismore.blogspot.com/2023/09/the-day-she-showed-up.html and https://soreismore.blogspot.com/2023/10/two-hundred-and-sixty-seven-stuart-2.html and a fantasy that's also part of their story here: https://soreismore.blogspot.com/2023/12/my-most-heartfelt-thanks.html

As far as Nick and Izzie story goes, my favourite is the multichapter Alphabet Story, link in the sidebar on the right.

I'm well familiar with the Shadows Play work. Yes, she's very talented indeed!

  5. Nick is a heart throb. And Izzie too. I bet you could sell novels about them for the rest of your life.

  6. Let me tell you some of the things that are special about Nick and Izzie.
    --the endless interesting role plays
--Izzie has PTSD and a mysterious past
--Nick is a service dom. Practically the whole world wants a service dom.
--Izzie is a beautiful high maintenance woman--the kind men both find to be a challenge and pursue endlessly.
--the dynamic between them is intense and romantic
--Him being a sensitive Dom and Izzie being a topping from the bottom person challenges you to think about what Dom and Sub really are about at their core. E.g. if the Dom is doing the endless role plays, wearing the costumes, staying in character, saying the phrases etc. that the sub wants--and being dominant in exactly the ways she wants him to be--then who is really being dominant here and who submissive?

    2. Dear Sage,
I hope you have your notifications on and will see my comment. I though long and hard about it, because Izzie and Nick are indeed my favourite couple. I'm happy to report that I'm back on working on that book. The problem was that initially it was written as a vanilla book, smutty vanilla as i call it. I needed to introduce kink, so... drum roll.. I'm writing Izzie's back story as a diary. You can read it all this month of April 2024 as part of the A to Z challenge. Aldous is Izzie's ex-husband. It's quite dark and ambiguous, but I hope you will enjoy it!
